Knowledge production

In each of the programs we learn, alongside the communities, about the innovative processes that are unfolding. Networks allow not only to visualize the knowledge of each community but also amplify it through the exchange with other communities and the scientific and technical expertise. From this ongoing dialogue of knowledge, over the years, we have carried out the following systematizations.

Reforestation in the Gran Chaco: a community-led model for land restoration

The initiative combines forest restoration, agroforestry and silvopastoral systems, and regenerative livestock farming. Experience shows that forest conservation is strengthened when it is linked to production, community roots and household economies. The model incorporates women’s leadership, access to water, land security and technological innovation as key conditions.

COMAR: Equator Iniciative Prize Case Study

This publication presents the experience of the Gran Chaco Women Artisans’ Cooperative, winner of the 2025 Equatorial Prize, and highlights how traditional knowledge, community action, and the sustainable use of natural resources contribute to building resilient communities, protecting biodiversity, and creating opportunities for women.

Agromonte: A strategy for safeguarding life in the American Chaco

A guide setting out the principles and practices of syntropic agroforestry systems adapted to the semi-arid Gran Chaco. The document provides tools for designing and managing production systems that regenerate ecosystems, strengthen food sovereignty and promote the well-being of rural communities.

Testing of the Belém Adaptation Indicators in the Province of Chaco

Argentina 1.5 and Gran Chaco Foundations have embarked on a joint journey to contribute to the testing of the BAI from a multi-scalar and multi-level perspective of adaptation. This policy report summarizes the progress made in recent months, which has involved joint capacity building and an effort to understand the extent to which BAI are applicable to the realities of the Chaco province in Argentina, and in particular, to the livestock production chain.

2025 Annual Report

Report on a year marked by significant milestones: the consolidation of a regional model that brings together local knowledge and innovation to strengthen the leadership of women and young people. Through networking, collective solutions are being driven from the ground up—with the support of local experts and specialists—to enhance climate resilience, equity and sustainable development in the region.
